About Placement Department

GSSSIETW is the first exclusive women’s engineering college, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The Institution has a full-fledged Placement Department for a seamless conduction of placement and recruitment activities. Placement Department plays a pivotal role in counseling and guiding students for their successful career placements. Placement Department is not only responsible for achieving complete placement of students, but also caters to pre-placement training, Industry-Institute partnerships and MoUs with corporates.


To empower women professional employability by imparting necessary trainings to meet the expectations of the Industry and to achieve record placements by providing adequate attractive job opportunities.

Placement Department of GSSSIETW has 963 sq. ft. floor area with full-fledged, well-furnished and excellent state-of-the-art infrastructure. Pre-placement talk hall, Written Test Hall, Group Discussion Rooms, Online Test Labs and Interview Panels are well setup for the smooth and seamless conduction of campus recruitment processes.

Training Details

The Dept. of Placement & Training organizes training programs to build, motivate and enhance the knowledge of the students towards the recruitment and interview process with the below training programs during each semester, making students industry ready.

FACE II Foundation Program -2 Group activity - Improving reasoning, convincing and speaking skills of students. Life skill Orientation - Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, influencing, group problem solving and presentation through Debate. Team Activity - Team work , Team Participation,  Extempore – Communication, Presentation skill. is practiced during the preparation phase of the activity. Team Activity 2 - Enable students frame dialogues for their day-to-day life scenarios. Make every student ask rational questions and make diplomatic replies.

FACE III Employability Training - 1 Foundation on Grammar - Nouns and pronouns, Determiners and articles, Verbs, Subject-verb agreement, Pronoun-antecedent agreement, Prepositions, Adjectives and adverbs, Conjunctions and interjections, Vocabulary building and writing exercises, Classification of sentences, Punctuations, Tenses

Quantitative Aptitude - Numbers, Ratio & Proportions, Profit& Loss, Time and Work, Profit& Loss, Time, Speed and Distance, Percentages, Simple Interest &Compound Interest, Permutation, Combination & Probability. Verbal Ability -  Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, Critical Reasoning, Vocabulary, Sentence Completion & Para Jumbles, Articles, Prepositions & Interrogatives, Voices & Forms of Speech. Logical Reasoning - Data Arrangements, Coding & Decoding, Logical Connectives, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Clocks & Calendars. 7 FACE VII Aptitude Refresher Revision - Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability topic specific to the company visiting the campus. Students of GSSSIETW, Mysuru have bagged package of 10.2 LPA in Campus Placement for the Academic Year 2017-18.

Despite the global slowdown in the campus recruitment for Engineering streams, GSSSIETW has achieved a quality and decent number of campus placements with a highest package of 10.2LPA.

Dept. of Training & Placement under the leadership of Dr. M Shivakumar - Principal, GSSSIETW, Mr. R K Bharath - CEO, GSSS ( R ) and Mr. Anil Kumar, Head - Training & Placement with the motto of providing Quality placement to the students invites major reputed companies for the campus drives.

Some of the the blue-chip recruiting companies including on-campus and pool-drives were : VMware, Applied Materials, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Harman International, Spaneos Software, HealthAsyst, RoboSoft Technologies, IBM, Infosys, Sankalp Semiconductors, CGI, SLK Softwares, Mindtree, Mobinius, SmartSoc Solutions, VTiger etc. Total of 205 students have received offer letters by various MNCs so far and the placement cycle is still in progress.
Following were some of the new on-campus companies this year viz ABB, SAP, SmartSoc Semiconductors, Sankalp Semiconductors, Bharat Light and Power etc .

He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Electronics & Communication Engg and Master of Technology (M.Tech ) in Digital Electronics & Communication Engg from VTU, Belgaum. 

He has successfully placed 1900+ fresher’s (On & Off campus) and 400+ experienced candidates (Lateral Hiring) in well known companies during last 7+ years. 

Was conferred Certificate of Recognition for the outstanding contribution to INFOSYS campus connect program. 

He has won 3rd prize in professional Knack track-Melting Pot of Inspire faculty contest at INFOSYS, Bangalore.

He has published, presented 6+ research papers in journals, National and international conferences.  

Attended 12+ workshops/STTPs on the latest areas of research in various reputed organizations(IIT’s/NIT’s). 

Established and initiated many educational clubs like Quiz Club, Debate Club, APTI Club etc. 

Worked as a Chief coordinator for the consortium of pool colleges for the strategic initiative of the pool colleges of Mangalore region for 2 years.

Organized a mega apprenticeship job fair in association with Board of Apprenticeship (BOAT), Chennai during August 2016, where 35+ companies participated and 75+ offers were rolled out. 

Initiated and facilitated in signing up of MOU with various organizations – Dell-EMC, Amazon AWS, etc.,  

As part of branding, Invited 50+ senior HR Industry leaders for various events of the institute to bridge the Industry-academia gap and significantly enhance college brand building.
